Day one in Venice

Arrived in Venice today.  The Palace Bonvecchiati is wonderful.  The staff is very nice, english speaking and patient.  Going to get a recommendation for dinner later today.

We visited the Rialto Bridge, and the Fish Market - we ate in a wine bar where the food was very good but we were very tired.  I had a real coke for the first time in years!  Diet coke is still to be found.

The hotel manager sent up a bottle of champagne and biscotti tonight - the boys tried it but it did not go over well.

So far the highlight is probably the fist market (unless your kids are Angler freaks - this can be missed) and the big hot tub at the hotel.  Oh yeah, mom also got a massage this afternoon at the hotel - -

tomorrrow is all about St. Mark's Square!  Stay tuned!

Gas was expensive, but I rented a Diesel car which made it more affordable - took some adjustment to get used to first gear in a diesel.
