Yippee! It is finally time to go the beach! Me and my brother were at the rental company at 7:30 am to pick up the car. Finally got headed out around 9:15 am and Pat fell in behind us on his motorcycle, wish I could have rode instead of driving, but it was okay; in the car I would prefer to drive. We went the scenic route from Brent, AL to Orange Beach and we saw God's country. I wanted my mom and brother to see the bridge crossing the river at Miller's Ferry. It looks like a great place to go fishing with kids because it has a playground nearby. We want to do that soon. Anyway, we get to Bay Minette in about 3 hours, only saw 1 state DOT. Stopped at Sonic's Drive-in in Bay Minette for lunch. Pat had to fill up his motorcycle and we were off to stop and go and go and stop in traffic. It seemed to take longer from Bay Minette to Gulf Shores than any of the backwood roads.
We got to the condo at exactly the check-in time which was great. It was clean and functional. Me, Pat and my kids claimed the upstairs and my mom and brother got the sleeper sofa. But it did have 2 bathrooms one up and one down so that was super. We unloaded the car and put on swimsuits to hit the beach. It was a red flag and the waves were pretty good. Luckily none of us lost any part of our swimsuits or flashed anybody. Onward to the pools. The kids liked the pools best and the condos have 4, one being a kiddie pool. That afternoon we went to Cici's Pizza in Foley to eat, and had to go to Wal-Mart, of course. Then back to the pools for a late evening dip. I put the kids to bed and left my mom and brother to babysit while me and Pat took a stroll in the sand.
