I had a wonderful time in Arizona. I'm not ready to go home! The hot sun and desert wind has done a lot to chase away the winter and get me ready for summer. I'm not sure how bearable it would be here in the dead of summer, but at this time in May it was amazing.

Carefree Resort was relaxing and lovely. It isn't the fanciest resort, but the people are friendly and the place is well maintained. The pool and botanical garden are great places to spend time.
If you come out to Carefree, be sure and take a walk to the Sundial. It is a mile's walk through the desert landscape and once you get there other than taking a look at the giant sundial there are cute shops and a fantastic coffee house (and wine bar) in the adjoining shopping area.
The sundial itself was built in 1959, and at a length of 62 feet, it is the largest sundial in the western hemisphere. I like that it is tucked away in a little neighborhood.
The coffee shop is called the Blue Sky Coffeehouse. OK. Get this. It is located in Carefree Arizona, on Easy Street. No kidding. Sedona is also a beautiful place. We took a day trip there to see the sights and eat lunch at the Enchantment Resort. It really has a spectacular view. But don't forget to make reservations, the Enchantment Resort is gated and you need to make reservations in advance. They will check them when you enter.
There's a lot more to talk about, but I'll have to add more later. I am going to get a good night's rest before I fly out in the morning, tan and serene.
I love the Arizona desert. I definitely want to come back.
