Rome 2007

We arrived in Rome at 10:45 AM.

Customs was very fast.  They could not wait to have us enter.  Rome here we come.

We found  the taxi line.  Wow these taxi's are small.  The first taxi was too small and our bags would not fit.  The second taxi was just right and we were on our way.

We zipped  along at 140 km/h until we hit the traffic of Rome.  The motorcycle drivers here are crazy.  They zip between traffic in both directions.

We arrived at our hotel.  It is one block from Saint Peters.  Wow!

We check in but our room is not ready.  We wait in the lobby for about 30 minutes.  The room is nice but a little small.  The AC works and we have an internet connection.  After unpacking, we head to Saint Peters. 

The walk to Saint Peters is great.  There are little shops and restaurants lining the streets.  There are so many restaurants in this town and they all smell awesome.

We arrive at Saint Peters at 6 PM.  The lines are short and Shari zips through them with her shaw.

After Saint Peters, we pass under the Passetto (Vatican Corridor) and hit the streets of the Borgo.  There are nice sidewalk cafes and tourist shops.

We stop for dinner on Borgo Pio at a sidewalk cafe named Romanella Pizzeria.  The staff is great.  They love Sasha and play with her all dinner.  The pizza was exactly what we were looking for.

After dinner, we strolled along Borgo Pio and Via D. Conciliazione.  We found a nice little shop that should milk and coffee just around the corner from the hotel.
