On Thursday, 5/24/07, we loaded up the car for the drive from NJ to Southern Maine. We arrived at the Hampton Suites in early afternoon and checked in.
After stowing our things in our HUGE two room suite, we drove over to the Perkin's Cove area and walked the Marginal Way...a scenic walking path along the rocky shoreline. We explored some tidepools, took lots of photos and then sipped a cocktail on the patio of the Oarweed which overlooks the walk and the ocean. After wandering around the quaint village of Perkins Cove for a bit, we decided to have dinner at Barnacle Bill's restaurant...a lobster pound type of restaurant. One of the waitresses took a lobster out of the tank for our 5 year old to see up close.
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi (the weather may have been warm enough for the beach, but the ocean temps up there are only about 50 degrees) and then called it a night.
I really miss the beauty of Maine and the snow and the people and the all the fall colors just everything.I come back as often as i can. it's just so beautiful there.
