A trip from May 25, 2007 to May 29, 2007, travelling to Rome, Pomezia, Terrasini, Venice, Florence …
4 Day trip to Rome, Vatican City, Venice, Florence and … More
4 Day trip to Rome, Vatican City, Venice, Florence and Pisa. Due to the short time, what you will miss the most is Rome. We had so many things left unseen there.
April 06, 2007 :: 00:18 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeeeaaaa! Finally I was able to buy the air tickets! Also, I bought the medical insurance for just under $7 for the 6 day trip :-) Still I need to pile up other documents and rush for the Schengen Visa from the Italian Embassy (after taking half day leave off of the office) and get the IDP.
May 05, 2007 :: 23:09 --------------------------------------------------------------------- The car and hotel reservations were done on April 15. I went to Italian embassy, New York City on April 24 and passed through smoothly with my Visa luck. I never had to face any tough question in any Visa interview. I'll pick up my stamped passport on May 10 (another couple of hours rest off of the damn office!) The IDP is on it's way too and should reach me by May 08.
That's a lot of stuff you have planned there. I went on a guided tour of Europe in January, and it was just exhausting. I'm going back to Italy this summer--this time Venice, and I'm going to spend four nights there! :-)
This time I plan to relax and enjoy myself :-) :-) :-).
I've just read about purchasing a health insurance policy for &7.00 for five days?
Sounds very very inexpensive to me. Almost ridiculously cheap!. I belong to the HIP Senior plan in NY. Do I really need additional coverage? And, no I have' nt yet talked to my HIP insurance people about if I'm covered in Italy.
But, in the meantime, I'd appreciate any info on this health insurance that can be purchased.
We're taking most of the same route in July, wonderful photos and info about the trip.. It seems that you were able to navigate around the country easily, Did you have help? Did the Italian embassy assist with getting your passport. I sent off for my passport in April and I'm anxious about not getting it back in time. What is IDP? Houston
Excuse me as coming off as being harsh, but this is an extremely ill conceived trip plan. Days 1 and 2 in Rome you will be very tired from packing in so many things, however, those days are still doable. The third day however, you have planned to go to Venice. You are completely booked with things to do on day 2, what time are you planning to leave Rome in order to go to Venice? They arent exactly neighbors...
A question: why did it take 16 days for the passport to be returned by the Italian Consulate after the interview? I have just mailed by application to the Chicago consulate (after it being endorsed by the vice-consul at St Louis) and I am slated to flight out on the 4th of July - hence the question, thanks.
That's because the website of Italian embassy says - "It may take between 7 to 15 days depending on the applicant's nationality. Since this matter is regulated by law, the visa officers cannot intervene in the process. The applicants are therefore required not to discuss or try to negotiate the date of issuance of the visa..."
