The flight over was very smooth, we were late getting out of Dulles but made our connection in Madrid with a few minutes to spare. Iberia's staff is very friendly and attentive. We had dinner prior to boarding the plane which would be reccomended if you are a picky eater.
The airport in Madrid is amazing, all glass and wood, I regret not taking a picture but I will do that when I return to share. Arriving in Barcelona we were escorted from the plane to a bus to take us through customs. Customs is a little bit of a nightmare during tourist season, despite having the ropes and ques they it was really just a mad dash of pushing and shoving to the front of the line. But we were in and out in about an hour with our luggage ready and a taxi to downtown.
Hey Matt loved your barcelona adventure. I was wondering how you found friendly apartments, we have booked with them and I am a bit nervous... was it as advertised?
Traveling to Spain is relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of Europe. That being said there is the Euro / Dollar exchange rate which makes everything a little a more expensive. Shop around for travel deals, we find that traveling on Saturday or Sunday to Tuesday will find you better rates.
Matt, Thanks for the confirmation on friendly rentals, I am feeling slightly more relaxed about booking over the internet. Your holiday looked fantastic I have about two monts before we go and I am starting to get excited!Regards allyson
Hey! I'm writing a travel itinerary for a semester project and I was wondering if you could tell me a few fun things that parents, as well as kids, would like to do in Barcelona.
