Taking Off!
We left Gila Bend around 9:00am. The drive was loooong! Especially with three kids ages 8,6,and 4. My husband was completly against brining the portable DVD to keep them entertained. His philosophy: "I didn't have that when I was a kid and I turned out just fine". So I had to come up with other ways to keep them entertained. During this part of the trip they were still tired from getting up early and slept most of the way which made it a nice drive.
Universal Studios was easily accomplished this first day. Especially, since the kids didn't enjoy most of the rides as they're designed for an older crowd. We were done around 6pm and left for our hotel.
The Hotel was a plesant surprise. It was easy to find and very clean with curtious staff. Dinner was McD's and Panda Express....
