This morning we drove past our old house, my first home. It's only one floor, but we had a palm tree in the front yard! Then we went to our old church, the place I was baptized.
The rest of the day we spent at Disneyland! I forgot how much fun it could be!! First we went on Pirates of the Carribean. It was their 40th birthday, today. The weather was decent, but the sun didn't shine for more that 5 minutes. My favorite rides were Rockin' Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Buzz Lightyear.
For dinner we had some awesome ribs at Tony's Roma. What a great day!
Busy day today. After Dad left for work, mom and I had breakfast at the hotel. Then we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. We got to pet sharks, sting rays, horseshoe crabs, anenemies, erchines, star fish, and sea slugs! We watched a seal/sealion show, and saw otters, jelly fish, a turtle, and poison toads.
After the Aquarium we went to the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. Little did we know it was Swallow Day! There was music, dancing, and booths set up in celebration. The mission's chapel was beautiful! Everything behind the alter was covered in gold.
For dinner we traveled north to Universal City to celebrate Uncle Paul's birthday with him. We ate at Daily Grill. It was fantastic!
This morning the weather was not very nice. By the time we got to Hollywood it had started to rain. First we went to Mann's Chinese Theatre, where all the stars foot and hand prints are in cement. I have the same sized hands as Marilyn Monroe!
Then we went to a wax museum. I thought I was going to be very scared, but the only part that was really scary was the part with the horror creatures. Next we went across the street to the Guiness World Records Museum.
Afterwards, we drove to the Tar Pits. I was very disappointed. I thought there was going to be a lot more animals in tar, but there was just one elephant. Then we drove to Rodeo drive. We stopped in Coach, Louis Vitton, DeBeers, and Tiffany's. It would be nice if I could afford ANY of it!
Next we drove to Venice Beach. It was still cold and cloudy, so we just walked around for a few minutes before we met Amanda and Jon. They took us to a restraunt at Marina del Rey right on the pier. Busy day!
Today we drove back to Hollywood to Universal Studios. Mom and I even got to see our first celebrity. If you've seen those commercials for the beans with the secret recipe, the dog, Duke, was in an animal show. During our tour of the back lot, they were filming one of my favorite shows, Desperate Housewives. We drove right by Wisteria Lane. They were also filming 'National Treasure 2' and 'Live Free of Die Hard: Die Hard 4'.
Universal had fun rides like 'Return of the Mummy', 'Jurassic Park', and 'Shrek 4-D'. There were more characters walking around than at Disney. We saw Shrek, Fiona, Woody Woodpecker, Donkey, and the shark from Jaws.
For dinner we had Mexican at El Torito. We went to bed early because were were tired teddy bears. :)
Today we went to the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. It was basically like going to an African Sufari. The weather was beautiful! We walked around most of the park, but they had a car tour through some of the bigger animal exhibits. We saw rinos, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, ostriges, all types of deer/antelope. In some of the smaller exhibits we say tigers, lions, elephants, okapi, warthogs, gorillas, meerkats, vultures, condors, bald eagles, road runners, flamingos, tourgouses, and porcupines. There was an opportunity to feed giraffes, but I guess they weren't very hungry this afternoon. It was probably the coolest zoo I've ever been to!
For dinner we met up with Jon and Amanda again and went to Pomona Valley Mining Co where you drink out of mason jars and eat off pie tins. There is a beautiful view of the entire valley. After dinner we were all happy and fat.
