The other review on April 2 - perhaps the restaurant was still working on the balance because we were there tonight - on April 28 - and I learned they d been open only 3 months. We thought they were amazingly fantastic.
The food was beyond reproach on any level. We were on our way to Cafe Europa which turned out to have closed, and as we went by this place I said We should check this italian place out sometime... and my boyrfriend said - just as I realized I d seen the same thing - The sign said El someting. I don t hink it s Italian any more So we turned the car around to check it out.
Amazing! We got the last available table. The service was excellent. The food was magnificant. Tacos and stuff, yes, but the thrust of what they provide is higher-end dishes where the subject of the dish is the primary focus - fish, beef, or chicken.
Steve got the red snapper which is a fishy fish - and I hate fsih and it was excellent. I got the churasco (on the specialties page) and it was divine. I was trying to decide between three diffenrt options and the waiter said that was one of the best dishes. YUM - butter and tender meat with herbs. Awesome.
We got two empanadas for appetiziers and I could easily have had a whole dinner of appetizers.
As I m vocal (sometimes to the chagrin of my boyfirend) and had been talking about how I was blissing out, the waiter brought us complimenteary flan and then I wanted to fall out of my chair with happiness. It was so smooth and sweet!
MARGARITAS: A very inmporant topic, right? No mix here. And their blending of the primary and indivieual ingrediants is masterful. There isn t even Triple Sec on there. The agave used to sweeten it is only sold in Mexico - and the owner goes there tgo get it. HELLO! We re in CT and he goes to Mexico to get the Agavie? Sign me up for a limo to take me home!
GO EAT HERE!!!!
