California native and Solvang resident, Chef David Cecchini combines fresh ingredients with diverse influences and years of experience to offer rustic Italian Cuisine in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country. The food is Italian in spirit, using local and seasonal ingredients. The menu features Neapolitan inspired, thin crust pizzas baked in an Italian wood burning brick oven with two daily-changing special pies and a piatto del giorno from the oven. CECCO'S menu is country casual and friendly, featuring hand made fresh pasta, salumi, salads, grilled meats and seafood. Local wines served by the bottle, glass and quartino are some of CECCO'S other tasteful offerings. Four unique dining areas are offered at CECCO; the casual elegance of the main dining area, along with the convivial dining counter, window counter seating with courtyard views, and the comfort zone at the pizza counter.
As recent locals we are lucky to be able to eat here either for lunch or dinner. The food is always wonderful (especially the pizzas and the lunch salads) and the staff is always friendly and capable. The wine list is comprehensive and the by the glass selections are really good. Know this: make a reservation for dinner.
Recently we patroned your restaurant. We waited over 15 minutes to get waited on. Then after ordering it took 15 minutes just to bring a salad! and there were only 3 patrons in the restaurant. Then after the salad it took another 20 minutes to bring the pizza. Now in a place known for pizza and a wood fired oven your would think that the pizza would arrive hot since the oven was only 20 feet from our table. But no it arrived almost cold! In a place known for having a wood fired oven how does a pizza arrive almost cold? I found out that it sat under the heat lamp for over 10 minutes. Don t know if your short of staff or if this is how you run business but I don t think I ll be returning. Can t say im dissapointed, just down right disturbed since I m part Italian.
