Troy, I was a HUGE fan of yours until tonight. Yes, your menu is delicious, and your drink selections are divine, but after tonight, I will NOT be dining in either of your establishments in the future.
After dining at the Abercorn location many, many times, my friends and I decided to try the new Islands location on Johnny Mercer. We had quite the group, and we were seated at a very large table. We had a mix of adults and children, and we were enjoying our experience immensely. Fast forward a few minutes...we had JUST gotten our entrees when the waitress comes over to tell us that another table is complaining about ours. Mind you, we did have children with us, but they were being well-behaved, although a little excited about the restaurant. We were not told to leave, but that was the intimation of the conversation with our waitress.
Firstly, this is a FAMILY restaurant. If you want to eat there, then expect to be dining with families. Secondly, as a waitress, it should have been her job to point this out to the complaining table. We had every right to be there.
Again, I could understand a complaint if the children were being obnoxious or running amok, but that wasn't the case. Also, we were one of THREE occuppied tables. We intentionally went there at 5pm on a Sunday when they were less likely to be busy.
So, to the owners of Troy...I love your food, but your etiquette needs some serious work
