Great atmosphere, great place to drink, great concepts, poor food, inexperienced servers. The place was opened by the owner of Respectable, and it just seems that its a great bar, with a good food concept, but no idea how to execute running a restaurant. The servers are all friendly, but not on top of things at all. I've eaten there several times now, and each time the servers seemed more like former Respectable employees who had no experience in serving. Friendly, but clueless as to the menu, no idea what to serve, when to serve, and how to properly wait on a table. More importantly, the food is just not good. It's not like it's foul, but it's just not good. The taco's of all kinds are bland, the tuna skewers are dry and overcooked, the wings are way too deep fry battered, the cakes three ways has three cakes that are supposed to be different but taste exactly the same, the flatbread is bland with not completely melted cheese, and the clams are in a broth so salty you can't finish them. They all have gourmet sounding descriptoion, and attempts at fancy display, but that's meaningless if you can't pull off the food itself. I will keep going back to drink, I love the atmosphere, but won't eat there for now. I don't typically review publicly, but I really hope someone there pays attention and make the needed changes, the concept is worth it. We need places like that for locals on the west end of Clematis. It's new, I'll give it a chance again after they iron out the kinks. But someone needs to take over the head chef job.
Longboards Restaurant on Clematis St. in West Palm Beach hosted the Give-A-Bike Fundraiser, and joined with Bill Bone Racing Team to help those who are homeless receive the gift of transportation.
The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County wants to provide 25 homeless people in Palm Beach County with a bicycle. This gift of transportation will enable them to be more mobile, keep appointments and ultimately become employed.
The Bill Bone Racing Team has agreed to help the Homeless Coalition raise $2,000 to purchase 25 used bicycles from Jack the Bike Man. The bikes are just about ready, now we just need the money to make... it happen.
They have organized a fundraiser to help secure enough funds to buy the bikes. PLEASE help with this worthwhile cause that will allow them to not only give back to our community in a constructive way, but to spread the joy of riding a bike to people who need some joy in their lives.
