My wife, son and I visited Shoo Mama's on Monday, June 20 while on vacation in Santa Rosa. The place sits rather unnoticed in a small strip shopping center. The experience and food, however, were far from ordinary. There was no line, no wait - very refreshing to be able to completely avoid the beach crowds. The appetizer (Shoo Mama's baked oysters), and entrees (crab cakes, fish taco, shrimp plate) were all delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend any of them. The dessert we shared was very unique - Caramel Pie. Never had heard of it, but it melts in your mouth and I have to indulge in it again soon! The waitress was very efficient and pleasant as she had to juggle several tables and hostess duties as she was the only one working that night. Sorry to say it was her last night on the job before moving back to her home town, but she did outstanding. I would highly recommend this place for it's food and to avoid the beach crowds.
