The wife and I joined a couple of friends that invited us to dinner there. It was the first time for us there and knew nothing about it.I read the reviews here and thought we'd be disappointed. We got there about a half hour early and found the place PACKED. The bar as well as the restaurant was crowded and the line was going out the door. We took a number and waited for our friends to arrive since our reservations were at for 6pm. As we sat waiting I couldn't help noticing how much traffic the wait staff had to go through and did so VERY successfully to deliver the food and drinks. So we were then promptly seated at our table and our friends arrived minutes later. Our waiter, Daniel, geeted us and offered drinks and appertizers. We ordered the coconut shrimp which was a standard order and was enjoyable. We all then ordered off the EARLY BIRD MENU.I highly recommend this because you will pay extra for the soup/salad and beverage if you don't. This runs from 4:30- 6;30. 2 of us had the n.y steak and the other 2 had the salmon. The meal came with a potatoe and vegetable. I had fries which were much better than I was expecting and I couldn't finish them. The others had the creamy mashed potatoes that looked delicious and they enjoyed them as well. Overall it was a great experience and we'd absolutly go back again. How anyone couldn't enjoy this place is beyond me. They have a large staff, both on the floor and in the kitchen. They have a partyroom upstairs, for which I don't envy the staff that have to climb those stairs all night. Fortunately they have an elevator for asssisting them in serving the food. The restrooms are located upstairs as well and are relatively clean and stocked. The only down side was that my wife didn't like the Greek soup. She said it was sour and got the potatoe leek instead. We're looking forward to trying breakfast there one morning after reading the reviews here.
The food is bland, the salads arn't that good, I tried the chicken piccata and it tasted like it had NO sauce at all, just tasted like a plain grilled chicken, also it was a bit overdone. The to go service is kinda funny, i only order one meal to go and I got a giant bag also i had to ask for bread and butter for the to go order, it wasn't automatically included. The service is attractive but not too skilled at WAITING!! All in all, this is a more expensive version of buttercup grill, but the food is worse and the added price is for ambiance, sitting outside?? right next to a busy intersection isnt very pleasant....this restaurant will probably steadily decline until it closes its doors like the last place did.
also one time i got a to go order, payed when i ordered, came back after a walk around the block to pick up my food, the food was ready, was about to walk out and the host said, did you pay for that? and i was like yea, i allready did, see you later, and he was like no no, wait here untill i can verify that, after he punched around on the computer for 3 minutes he went to find the waitress that actually took my order and my money. this was 5 minutes of stand here and wait because you look like someone who wouldnt pay for your meal, embarrassing, unprofessional, terrible service AGAIN....this place is doomed to fail.
notice the good reviews sound like people who were paid/have incentive for the restaurant to do well??
Jack's is our go-to for family breakfasts; there's something for everyone. My granddaughters love the chicken-apple sausage. Excellent service. Best Mac and Cheese ever for lunch. Great dinner menu. Great family restaurant.
Absolutely love Jack's! My friend and I met for breakfast one morning and brought our dogs. They set us up with a great table, an outdoor heater, and a big bowl of water for the pups. On top of that, my breakfast rocked!
Just plain awful. We had a party of 9 for breakfast, 4 adults and 5 kids. Last time we do that. They don't even have a kids menu for breakfast??? Our waitress was horrible. The kids wanted hot chocolate and we were told the machine was broken so they ordered chocolate milk- it came w/ their food 35 minutes later. I would have loved a coffee refil but everytime I asked she would say okay and never come back. I food is okay but thats about it. I will not return.
My family and I just left Jack's and we are still in shock...this was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE...the food was horrible, the service was horrible, the wait was horrible...we gave our name to the hostess at 5:30 pm and were told we would have a 45 minute wait, we were not seated for 1 hour and 45 minutes...when the food arrived, IT WAS NOT EDIBLE...the avocado on my burger was as frozen as an ice cube...don't even ask about the burger meat...the coconut fried shrimp for $9.95 must have come from Costco...this place is a pathetic imitation of BJ's...RUN, RUN, RUN AWAY FROM THIS SAD EXCUSE OF A RESTSAURANT...
