Went there yesterday for my friend s birthday. We had about 20 people and were sitting in the private room. It was dead yesterday and had one waiter serving us. Most of us ordered the Houston Restaurants Week s menu. I had clam chower which was awesome. The Sirlon was not bad, but my friend s Mahi Mahi had no flavor and they only gave her a small cup of lemon butter sauce. The food came out fairly slow so my friend and I decided to have our creme brulee to go, and order 5 order of clam chowder and a lobster bisque to go. The to go order didn t come out until 45 mins later. The clam chowder was in a to go container with NO LIDS. It was covered in Seran wraps...really? Then we checked the lobster bisque that s supposed to be the same size container as the clam chowder. But we got a to go box with some crawfish meat in the box, and 2 small sauce cups..and the lobster bisque was inside that 2 sauce cups. It looks like someone s leftovers instead. We asked them how come the lobster bisque looks like that and they said that s how it supposed to be and they can t do anything about it because the kitchen is closed. The creme brulee to go was worst. They don t have a small soup or bowl container to put it in so they just slapped it in the large to go box and it looks like vomit in the box...it was horrible. We had to drive home holding all the bags with the clam chowder worried it would all spill in the car. I ve never been to a restaurant that prepared to go order this poorly...and for a restaurant that s empty but took them 45 mins to get us some clam chowder, imagine how long it would take if the restaurant is packed. Our waiter John was very polite and friendly, but everything else just sucks. Would never come back again. Stick to Del Frisco next time for sure.
This place was not what I expected from what I had read on-line. My friend ordered the Tropical Sangria... he said he d had a better sangria drink at Papadeaux. My daughter had the fish and chips... she ended up no eating several pieces of the fish because it was soo greasy. I had the grilled salmon, scallops, and crabb stuffed shrimp (had never tried crab that tasted like liver). All in all I give this place a terrible thumbs down. It was over priced and I should ve have known when we walked in that the food would not be good, something about the place....
