A few quick seconds talking to security then showing some id and your on the academy grounds beautiful grounds. Cadets marching around in perfect uniforms and grounds that are beautifully maintained. With a walking tour and all kinds of stuff to do the academy is a great place.
As a perspective cadet myself, I went to admissions and talked with a great employee down stairs and got a nice admissions packet and a little talk about the academy. In the same building as admissions there is also a very neat Coast Guard History Museum.
An amazing service academy that should leave you feeling proud when you leave.

The United States Coast Guard Academy provided me with the opportunity to really appriciate the sacrifices that some people in our country make to keep us safe. The campus is gorgeous with the interesting experience of seeing some of the finest future officers in the country! A must visit place!
The United States Coast Guard Academy is one of the most beautiful places in CT! The Academy grounds boast beautiful landscaping and epic views of the Thames River. The Coast Guard Academy is home to approximately 1000 cadets training to become officers in the United States Coast Guard. The Cadet Memorial Chapel and Robert Crown Park are must-sees when visiting New London!
