Gilligan's Waterfront Restaurant and Bar, Lewes

Cheryl makes the best crabcakes ever, and all of her desserts are home-made on the premesis. Other favorites on the menu include the soba noodles, lobster roll, and caesar salad with crab.

the crabcakes here are the size of a softball and probably weigh about a pound. it's the first time i've ever been completely full from eating crab meat (and i eat crabs quite often).

I have been going to this restaurant for ten years. On Sunday of labor day weekend four of us had lunch which was very enjoyable untill several hours later when one of our pary of four discovered his cell was missing.I called his number and he had left at the restaurant..I asked if they would mail it to his home address, which they would do but wanted a credit card nuber so he could pay for the postage..Business must be bad .Why would you treat a customer this way.On top of this it took them a week to send it back, their excuse was that they were to busy.I don't think I will be back!

Great location, in the heart of Historical Lewes. The outside of the resautrant fits with the shore scene as you feel as though you are walking onto a boat. The inside is quite tight, but the view to the canal makes up for the small atmosphere. Waiters aren't as friendly and the food is good, but average and over priced.

Ok, except for the hostess allowing a small backup at the front door upon arrival, all was great. The view of the marina along the canal, and truly exceptional food. From the sorba noodle salad to the crab cake entree (this is no pretender, it is gourmet, and satisfying). My wife had salmon, which was very nice also. Chris provided memorable service for us.

The best, the biggest, the most wonderful crab cakes in all of the Eastern Shore, including Baltimore, and we tried them all! The decor is charming, staff is great, and the town of Lewes is good for a day if you like history or shopping.

As life-long Lewes residents, we've seen restaurants come and go. We've had the opportunity to sample them all. Gilligan's is one of only two that we patronize on a regular basis. The atmosphere is outstanding. You can dine indoors or outdoors, all with canal-side dining. The wait staff has always been top shelf . . . . The food is great, always . . . . Carla's crab cakes could probably go down in the record book for size, with flavor to match. Where else can you find a restaurant where you typically get a doggy bag for crab cakes? We ate outside with our 2 dogs and had wonderful margaritas and a super seafood lunch. We loved it, and the dogs did also.

Cheryl's crabcakes are huge-- you finally get enough crabcake that you don't want to order a second entree! The ambiance is classy, yet casual and the view is great.
