Hard to tell if this place is really in business

Its tough to tell if this place is good or bad - since it is unclear if the place really is open for business. I bought a gift certificate to this place for my wife for Mother's Day. Additionally, a number of my brother in laws did the same for their wives since our family was going to be down the Cape for the week.
Our wives made numerous attempts to try and book an appt. but no one answered the phone nor returned the messages. My mother-in-law actually went down to the place and finally was able to talk to somebody but essentially got nowhere until she told them she was going to contact the BBB about them.
In the end, we got a our money refunded - but it wasted a decent amount of our vacation week. What was funny, is that an eye doctor seems to own the place, we had to go to his place of business to get the refund. More funny is that some of the people who seem to "work" at the spa were actually working at the eye business and there's actually a massage chair there! Maybe we should have tried to book a massage at the eye place! In the end, I'd recommend to NEVER buy a gift certificate from these people and if you are going to book an appt do it way way in advance - don't believe the web site which says walk ins are welcome.
