I have been going to see musicals at the Palace Theatre for years. The dancing & singing is as good as I have seen on Broadway. The Palace Theatre is a beautiful historic theatre with lots of charm that you don't see these days in modern venues. I would highly recommend visiting the Palace instead of traveling to New York or Boston to see shows.
As a dedicated patron of the Palace Theater, I commend those who have painfully and with dedication care and support the theater. However, recently the Palace productions have taken somewhat of a step down. Last nights Christmas Carol was the most miserable production I have seen. Though there is wonderful talent there it certainly was not showcased. The artist director did not entertain the audiance, it was a show for the cast to just sing and dance whether it had anything to do with the subject or not. The set was lovely and professional the choeography was an insult to the actors and audiance. I came away with no feeling other than I just wasted $100.00. Your artist director needs to rethink his path.
