Vermont State House, Montpelier

Outstanding restoration job on this beautiful state house building. It is the smallest capitol building in the USA, but amongst the best preserved. The chandeliers in this place make it worth it alone -- gas models that survived a major fire and were restored and electrified. The tour guide brings you right into the chambers where over 140 years of state business have taken place. The grounds are immaculately kept and beautiful. You can tour the building and the grounds in under 1 hour if in a rush. Some very interesting sculptures as well (one of Lincoln in the main hall).
