Located along the side of Dorset Mountain, this 430 acre park was historically significant because of it's marble quarrying activities. The 105 campsites, including 36 lean-tos, are located on a heavily wooded ridge above Emerald Lake. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, boat rental facilities, a small beach with snack bar, lakeside picnic tables and an open picnic pavilion. Trails throughout the park and nearby provide great hiking opportunities. Swimming, fishing, and non-motor boating are popular in the lake.

1 reviews for Emerald Lake State Park
fun for the family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/06
I have been camping at Emerald Lake State Park on and off for the better part of 35 years. First as a child with my family, and later with my own children. It has changed much over the years, but one thing remains the same: it is a great place for families! The park is well maintained, with clean facilities and a small but nice beach. The path to the beach is a little steep for young children, but the access from the parking lot is a short, scenic walk. There are organized activities for the kids, and attractions are only minutes away in nearby Manchester and Bennington. If there was anything I would wish for, it is laundry facilities. Years ago, there was a lady who would drive her truck around the sites each morning, selling necessities such as milk, bread, ice, eggs, donuts, and candy for the kids. It would be nice to see that brought back again. There is a small store at the beach, but that is more a snack bar.All in all, the park is a nice, quiet, family get away.
