Arcady Vineyard Wine Tours, Charlottesville

Erika was our guide for the wine tour to King Family, Pollack, Afton Mountain, and Cardinal Point Wineries. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be looking for an opportunity to book another tour in the future. This was so much better than a limo driver dropping us off at each place; Erika went inside with us and seemed to know every person at each of the wineries - a big factor in getting great service in the tasting room and having a great time. And the lunch was delicious! A huge winner - highly recommended.

Despite an overnight storm which nocked out power in Charlottesville, we were picked up as planned at our hotel. Our guide Erika supplied everything we needed for the afternoon. The tour of 3 wineries and 1 brewery was educational,fun, and very tasty. It was as expensive day as we purchased some wine and beer however well worth it, not what you do every day. I think we would skip the brewery another time and focus on the wonderful wines. We would highly recommend the tour which also included pictures we retrieved on the internet and a nice tour of Charlottesville so we could later return. Thank you ERika.

My wife and I used Arcady Tours to visit the beautiful wineries around Charlottesville. Arcady is run by Erika and her husband Chris. They give the tours. We had Erika as the guide in our group, but we met Chris along the way. We were both wine novices and Erika was very helpful in explaining things to us in a clear, understandable and unpretentious way. Everyone at the wineries knew Erika which meant even better service for us. They also cover all the fees, provided much needed water and a delicious cheese and chocolate plate. If you are thinking of a wine tour for an anniversary weekend, a birthday or even just a getaway I would definitely recommend Arcady.

My wife and I finally decided to go on a wine tour. Having been to Napa Valley once, I was determined to make sure I didn't have to drive this time. We are novice wine enthusiasts at best. Of course we’d like to think we’re experts because we’ve been drinking wine for years. We didn’t get an opportunity to stay at Arcady Bed & Breakfast; however we did get Chris to give us a tour. We made a good choice in choosing to go on a Friday because the wineries weren’t crowded and we received immediate face time with the owners and staff. The winery owners and staff were very nice and eager to answer questions and explained their wines in explicit detail. Chris was very knowledgeable and provided his recommendations (when asked) on both wineries and wines. Chris could have gotten behind the bar at each tasting room and explained the different varieties at each winery himself and done the same if not a better job than the owners and staff. Our tour was King, Pollack, Veritas, Afton and Cardinal. All were very beautiful and we could have spent the rest of the day at any one. I wasn’t excited about the cheese tray until I saw it. WoW! Very nicely done! For people like me who are looking to: advance their wine knowledge, enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon drinking good wine while enjoying the beautiful scenery, try a large variety of wines, and want a remarkable experience, Arcady is the best place to start. I don’t know why I waited so long, but my wife and I would love to come back and do a fall tour. Good customer service is hard to find these days and excellent customer service is rare.

My two daughters and I were visiting Charlottesville for a Mothers Day Mother/Daughter getaway weekend. We booked a winery tour with Arcady for Mothers Day & it was beyond our expectations! Chris was a pleasant, knowledgeable tour guide that shared history of the area & his vast knowledge of wine & the wine production process with us. We loved it. The cheese tray at the 2nd winery was delicious -- and Chris even "toted" all of the wine we bought to the car & then back to our Inn. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Thanks, Chris

My husband and I spent two days in Charlottesville for our four-year anniversary, and, being the wine-lovers that we are, wanted to visit the area's various vineyards. I discovered the Arcady Vineyard Wine Tour on TripAdvisor.com, and after reading about all the tour had to offer, I was hooked. And Arcady didn't disappoint! As my husband and I agreed, the tour was worth every penny! Even before we arrived in Charlottesville, I was impressed with the customer service that we received. Erika was always "on the ball" with responding to emails in a timely manner, sending confirmations, answering questions, and so forth. I appreciated the personal attention we received pre-arrival, and knew, simply from this excellent customer service, that we were in for an above-and-beyond touring experience. From the moment Chris (our tour guide) picked us up (early!) at our hotel, my expectation of a phenomenal afternoon was confirmed. Chris's wealth of Virginia wine and vineyard knowledge was vast, and he guided us as we tasted at each vineyard and answered any questions we had. The tour included a delicious gourmet cheese, chocolate, and fruit plate, which we were able to enjoy at our leisure. My favorite aspect of the tour was knowing I was "in good hands" and could enjoy tasting at four locations without needing to drive myself. I didn't have to worry about getting lost in a new location, either, but could enjoy the beautiful Charlottesville scenery while hearing "fun" and historical facts from an experienced guide. Finally, my husband and I agreed that the wine each vineyard produced was excellent! We live in Northern Virginia, and so have only had the chance to tour the vineyards in those surrounding counties. Charlottesville wine far surpassed these in quality, in our opinion. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit so many vineyards in one day. Since we chose the hybrid tour, we also enjoyed visiting one brewery, Blue Mountain, which was the highlight of my husband's day, because he purchased his first growler! I was thankful that Arcady offered this hybrid tour, because it suited both of our tastes and interests. I would recommend the Arcady Vineyard Wine Tour to anyone and everyone who loves to learn about, taste, and drink wine (and beer)! Erika was great from start to finish. She knew a lot about the wineries and wine-making process. It was totally worth the cost of the trip. We went for my husband's bday and he loved it. Am planning to do it again

My husband and I stayed in beautiful Charlottesville this past weekend and were delighted with Arcady Vineyard Wine Tours. We recently had a great tasting in California with a big tour bus, but this tour through Virginiaian wine country blew the CA tour out of the water! Chris was our motivated and good-humored guide who possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of wine and gets my safe driver of the year award. We were most fascinated by the considerable differences in wine production between CA and VA. We were able to visit 5 wineries, additionally participated in a barrel tasting and even had time to enjoy the fabulous cheese, fruit and chocolate platter. This company really knows how to give the VIP treatment and I hope to tour with them again next year.

My husband and I went on the Arcady Wine Tour while honeymooning in Charlottesville this past October. We had such a good time touring with Chris and learned a lot about the wine making process. It was just the two of us on the tour and Chris was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. We visited four wineries and during one of our stops we were provided with a tasty cheese plate which included some fruit and delicious chocolates. We went on a Tuesday so the wineries were a lot less crowded compared to the weekend and we got a good amount of attention. I highly recommend Arcady Vineyard Wine Tours to anyone looking to go wine tasting in the Charlottesville area. It was a great experience, a great introduction to wine tasting, and a highlight of our honeymoon.

From start to finish, this tour exceeded all of my expectations. A good friend and I decided to do a wine tour while she was visiting from out of town. Chris, our guide, showed up on time and ready to teach us all about the wine industry. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and was more than happy to answer any of our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and plan to use Arcady Vineyard Wine Tours again in the future. It's the perfect way to tour wineries safely in addition to gaining the benefit of having a knowledgeable guide. Plus, they are truly into customer service and cater to every last detail. For example, when leaving the vineyards Chris would gather all of our purchases and take them to the van. Also, he carried a digital camera to take pictures of the tour and emailed us the photos! We also had lunch on the tour which was set up in first class style. The food was amazing and it was all from local vendors. In addition to all of these things, he was a true gentleman--he opened doors and took our coats at every stop. The tour was a blast and I can't wait to do another one. The service, safety, professionalism and expert guidance made this tour exceptional and worth every dime paid. Highly recommended :)
