A Gogo Lounge, Montreal

Against all odds, this 70s theme bar has succeeded amidst the jaded watering holes of Boulevard St-Laurent . With funky tables and chairs, lava lamps and a psychedelic paint job throughout, Gogo originally had trouble drawing a crowd. A year later, however, friendly waitresses deliver reasonably priced specialty martinis to a mixed throng of students and 20-somethings. It might not be for everyone, but it's a great stop on any St-Laurent pub crawl, especially if you hate waiting in lines.
