Thai restaurants are renowned for recreating the atmosphere of a Bangkok hangout, and this is no exception, with recessed lighting in a blue and beige room giving off a golden glow. The seating is also comfortable and relaxing. Whether you are a novice or an aficionado of Thai food, just about everything on the menu is excellent here. Dishes include fish cakes, Cold Squid Salad, shrimp with eggplant, Pad Thai and duck in red curry. Dinner for two, excluding wine or tip, comes to between CAD40-60.
The first thinking when we open the door of this restaurant is wonderful with very fast set a seat for our group of 6 with the smile and friendly of waiter and with magnific ambience with the small candle in the botle glass on all the table . The foods are really delicious , spicy and tasty and with excelence service rapid and friendly and the smile of all waiter, we paid less than $120 for our group with 1 Tsingtao beer for each person including the spicy tomyum thai soup and apertizer and main cours , very good price of food and most important of excelence service. We will be back ....
I love it! From the moment your bowl reaches the table your senses are assaulted by the aromas. The spices are different from what I am accustomed to and make imprints on my palate. The Vietnamese beer is spicy and light adding just the right authenticity to the experience and just when you thought it couldn't get any better, the main course arrives and delights you with visual splendor and yet new enticing smells to thrill your appetite.
The service is friendly but not intrusive, the atmosphere quaint yet simple. I've brought clients, friends and family.
As for value, it's a steal so feel free to tip appropriately.
I visited Phayathai with a group of four, and we arrived shortly after 6 on a Sunday night. At first we thought we would be easily seated- only one large group occupied the small dining room. A closer look revealed that all but one table were reserved. We were lucky enough to snag the last table, but I'd make reservations next time.
We began our meal with phayathai, their spicy seafood soup. Loaded with crab, shrimp and scallops in a tasty broth, this soup was amazing. It was wonderfully flavoured and perfectly spicy- just be sure to avoid the chilies! This soup alone would be worth going back for.
For the main course, we ordered three main dishes with plain rice, while the forth member had Pad Thai. The main dishes were chicken with cashews, Shrimp in yellow curry, and chicken in green curry. The chicken with cashews was my favourite- sweet and tasty, with a perfect crunch. The two curry dishes were also very good, loaded with fresh veggies and flavour. The Pad Thai was fantastic- creamy and peanuty. Everything I'd ever want in a Pad Thai.
Service was quite good. Two servers were working, and they shared our table. The space is quite small and they were full, including a group of about 16 that kept them busy. Our group paid about $90 for our meal, with two of the party drinking. Great value, great food- I'd go back in an instant!
Charming Thai restaurant with authentic thai food, you wont be disappointed with the food and the ambiance, upscale without heavy price. Phayathai-107 Laurier West,MTL is bigger than Phayathai-Guy Downtown, but same wonderfull food.
This sunny, warm and whimsically decorated restaurant is geared towards one thing: the appreciation of classic Portuguese cooking. The decor
combines modern comfort with old world artifacts, and won a design award upon its opening in 1997. The food ...
A recent move to the downtown area has not cramped this classic restaurant's style, thanks to continuity in both service
