Michelangelo's (Chip Bee Gardens)
With the cuisine to back up his award-winning wine list, Executive Chef and ownter Angelo Sanelli has created quite a destination for food-lovers. Sanelli is always willing to make something "just for you" if you aren't happy with the Eggplant Tower, Calamari Fritti, Chili Mussels and the popular Frutti del Mar from the eclectic and crowd-pleasing menu. The atmosphere and buzz of this popular eatery will draw you in, and the food and wine will bring you back.
Service was great, which made it easy to forgive them when they forgot to tell us about the specials until after we ordered.
However, the food was so-so.
We started with the antipasto. It was very good and I can recommend that. My wife had a veg. spaghetti dish that was very good. However, we've made better at home. I had fetticini with salmon. The fetticini looked and tasted suspiciously like egg noodles. It also turned out that the salmon was smoked and they salted the sauce too. The end result was so salty I only ate half of it. We each had a glass of wine. Our bill was about $150. Not great but not bad. I've had better in Singapore.
The comments about the wine list are accurate. However, Original Sin next door has the same ambience, same service, and they share the same wine celar. I've actually eaten at Original Sin 3 times, and each time left super happy.
Michelangelo's has been a wonderful place to wine and dine. I had a fantastic time with my loved one during valentine's day and the service was excellent.
I also noticed that the great chef himself (Michelangelo) was there preparing some of the dishes for those who came to wine and dine.
Excellent ambiance, good food and great service.. can't wait to go back!!
The wine list is absolutely amazing, nothing like it anywhere. The personal service that we experienced was just like being at home. Chef Angelo made sure everything was just right and visited each table personally. The staff were very warm and friendly yet professional. The food was better than anywhere I have ever eaten in Asia. We just had a wonderful time.
