Description

You'll know that Christmas is just around the corner when you see these stalls set up to sell turrón (Spanish nougat). Most of the the sellers come from Alberca district and they have been setting up their stalls in the doorways of San Antonio Church, behind the plaza Mayor , for years. The almond nougat is a carefully-prepared, high-quality and increasingly popular sweet treat associated with Christmas celebrations. You'll find homemade caramel-coated almonds and perronillas (a kind of Spanish candy) along with honey and pollen on the stalls as well.
