Zanotti, Bang rak

Get the breaded veal...not on the menu..unbeatable.

Everything one says about Zanotti is true, as its a great place to go.....a bit crowded with tables sometimes on top of each other but in general a wonderful restaurant....HOWEVER I hear that half the staff left and have formed their own restaurant around the corner called BRAVO...anybody been there?

Yes, other restaurants like Angelini keep winning the "Best in Bangkok" awards. Thank heavens. Otherwise, Zanotti would be even more packed than it is, and I couldn't get in. If you love Italian-style Italian food... if (you're American and) the words "Olive" and "Garden" give you hives if they're too close together... if you make your own Pesto... ...then Zanotti is the restaurant for you. I agree: this would be a great restaurant even in Italy. Outside Italy, it's totally exceptional. The best service I've had anywhere in Thailand, excellent decor, amazing food, and a menu that's at least 50% dishes you won't find anywhere else for 2,000 miles. Try the fish baked in paper... ohhh... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. And there's a homemade pasta with a Walnut and Ham sauce that's out-of-this-world. The deserts are great, especially for Asia.... But... shhhhhh. Don't tell anybody else. OK?

As an ex-pat I lived in Bangkok a while back when ZANOTTI was all new. This restaurant always welcomed me and any guests I had with open arms. Sometimes we had to wait to be seated at the bar and this is where I made friends with many local Thai and Chinese. On one occasion I had invited two police generals and a former Thai ambassador to my home-country Sweden. Security was never an issue and the staff were un-faced with the presence of any dignitaries. I know for a fact that all my friends I have shown this fine restaurant have had nothing but good to say and I shall always cherish the times spend at Gianmaria's Zanotti. Israel Upmann New York

Zanotti is simply the best Italian restaurant east of Milan, and actually would be one of the top restaurants in Italy if it were there. Even though Bangkok is a culinary delight and the Asian food must be sampled, this is truly a unique dining experience. Don't miss: The anti-pasti platter, the four cheese risotto and the Florentine steak.

You definitely won't go wrong with this place. Excellent Italian food, pretty decent wine list (considering you are in Bangkok) in a restaurant with a great and lively atmosphere.

THE PLACE IS ALWAYS FULL AND ATMOSPHERIC FOOD IS FABULOUS. THE DESSERTS ARE JUST DELICIOUS. A LARGE VARIED MENU. I TRAVEL TO BANGKOK 3-5 TIMES A YEAR AND I VISIT ZANOTTI EVERY TRIP GOOD FOOD...WHAT MORE COULD ONE WANT
