Yes, other restaurants like Angelini keep winning the "Best in Bangkok" awards. Thank heavens. Otherwise, Zanotti would be even more packed than it is, and I couldn't get in.
If you love Italian-style Italian food... if (you're American and) the words "Olive" and "Garden" give you hives if they're too close together... if you make your own Pesto...
...then Zanotti is the restaurant for you. I agree: this would be a great restaurant even in Italy. Outside Italy, it's totally exceptional. The best service I've had anywhere in Thailand, excellent decor, amazing food, and a menu that's at least 50% dishes you won't find anywhere else for 2,000 miles. Try the fish baked in paper... ohhh... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. And there's a homemade pasta with a Walnut and Ham sauce that's out-of-this-world. The deserts are great, especially for Asia....
But... shhhhhh. Don't tell anybody else. OK?
