If you're a fan of Mexican food, you can probably guess the menu here: fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos. Nevertheless, there's no need to be disappointed by the assortment. This is a Mexican and Spanish treat way north of the border, at its very best. One of the Spanish delicacies is Paella A La Valencia - a rice, saffron and seafood combination that comes with chicken, clams, prawns, squid and snapper.
My wife and I went here because Los Margaritas had a 1/2 hour wait and we should have waited the half hour. I get the feeling that the restaurant is in barely making mode. We both ordered a margarita at the cost of close to $7 and got this tiny very green drink. It was the smallest margarita I have ever had. It tasted ok but at that price for it I sipped it very slowly. I ordered the chicken burrito and my wife ordered a taco salad. My burrito comprised of chicken with a white sauce wrapped it tortilla and that was it. It was served with what I think was instant rice basic pinto and an iceberg lettuce salad. My wife’s salad was served in a tortilla bowl but was pretty much ice berg lettuce and some chicken. No beans or sauce or dressing. I go to the US fairly often and there are so many great mexican restaurants there and here in vancouver I'm yet to find anything close. This place would barely get a customer in the US.
Just came from Dinner at Pepitas, the food was mediocre and expensive and the service was uninspired. I will not be returning. Especially if you have ever had Mexican food in the USA, you will be very disapointed.
Plus, note to coupon users: Coupons for Pepitas are misleading. They only cover 2/3 of the price of your second entree and you have to buy at least 2 drinks. Don't come here if you are looking for a deal!
We've been here before and many years ago we remember fabulous food and a great atmosphere. Not this time! The paella was dried out/overcooked, something wasn't right. The red sauce has no flavor. Out of six entrees ordered the only thing that looked appetizing was the fajita dish. The chips and salsa were good, especially the salsa, but the chips were served in a tiny basket and with 6 people we had to ask for more.
We have no idea who the server was as she was not a 'server' by any stretch of the imagination. Not a good experience and we won't be wasting our money again.
Fire ravaged this Kitsilano restaurant's original structure during the late 1990s. But like the fiery Phoenix, a better taverna rose
from its ashes. A mannequin garbed in traditional Greek attire greets guests outside. Inside, it is reminiscent of a ...
