Nags Head Golf Links

Course starts off on a short par 4, followed by a par 5 right along the local highways. After that, you get into a nice mix of marshlands and more open fairways. Overall, a beautiful course, very pleasing to the eye, holes along the sound (particularly nine and eighteen) are breathtaking. I've played this course twice a year, on average, for the last ten years, but probably won't go back in the near term. With a number of very nice courses coming on line nearby, there are fantastic alternatives. Also, this course has developed more and more of a "locals" feel, where, as a vacationer, you're clearly viewed (and treated) as an outsider. Complaints about slow play (and believe me, it's sloooooow play, 5+ hour rounds are very common) are met with a glare, or even a laugh, and the ranger drives on. Unfortunate, because this used to be the highlight of our Outer Banks Golf boondoggle; now, if we do play there, the overall experience falls lower on the scale. Hope this helps!
