Cable Beach

Description

Not to be missed—this beach is world famous for its fabulous sand and crystal waters and for the myriad upscale resorts that line it. It was a beach with no name until 1907 when it became the landing point for the Trans-Atlantic cable, which stretched from here to connect The Bahamas to mainland America at Jupiter, Florida. Today, it's the ultimate playground for fun in the sun. There are all the usual water sports and activities and plenty of space for sunbathing.

Loved it, it was small not crowed. The beach was beautiful with white sand and three different colors of blue water.

Cable beach is Beautiful!
By ,
I went to this beach as an excursion from a cruise. We we to Wyndam Hotel and behind it is Cable beach. It was beautiful. Don't go when cool, or cold you can't get into the water, only the jacuzzi. The hotels in this area is nice. the water is clear, people very hospitable. large 4ft pool with water fall and slide.

God's Glory!

Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas is gorgeous. The Sun rises and Sunsets were breath taking. My pictures look like postcards. The 8 days we were there were unbelievable. I loved this island enough to live there.

Loving Cable beach
By ,
Cable beach is just beautiful. It is clean and the water is breathtaking! It is nice to lay on the beach and to see familiar people walk by each day. There is a man we call "the captain" he is the man in the white outfit and captains hat which we have seen for many years walking along the beach each day. We have come to expect to see him on our trips to nassau."like part of the scenery"

We got married here
By ,
We stayed at Breezes Resort and got married on Cable Beach in February. It was a little chilly the first couple of days, but the morning of our wedding the weather was absolutely beautiful. The beaches are gorgeous! We are planning to go back on our 5th anniversery next February.

Heading back now
By ,
My wife and I first stayed at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort last Chistmas (2009) for a 4 day get away and liked it so much we went back in February of 2010. Terrific service , clean spacious rooms, great pool area and superb beach. The downside is the beach vendors but there are a lot less than at Atlantis which is 3 or 4 times the price. Just remember that the beaches are public property in the Bahamas but if you are on the resort beach (about 30 feet from the water) they will leave you alone. The poolside bar has a great staff. Tipping is included with drinks however I usually tip with the first drink and get great service the rest of the day. A tip when you say goodbye for the day reminds them that you are a prefered customer!! The drinks are free pour so a tip does go a long way. There is a great walking path across the road in the center of the divided street for walking off the great food. The pools are very clean and plenty of towels nearby at the beach hut. There is a casino nearby if you like the slots or cards and a Starbucks is in the casino for a good cup of coffee. The #1 bus runs downtown every 20 minutes or so. $1.25 gets a bus ride downtown to Bay Street for plenty of good shopping. Don't forget to try the Fish Fry. Just ask the bus driver to let you off at the Fish Fry. Two Brothers has the most amazing fresh seafood means. Try the fried plantains with dinner. We love the Bahamas and have been there 7 times in the last 5 years and we're packing our bags to go again this week. Enjoy

Great beach
By ,
We stayed at a resort on Cable Beach last May. The water was really the best we have ever seen. We have been to Nassau three times before but this is by far the best. So pack your shades and fly on down, it is only about ten minutes from the airport.
