I LOVED Ardastra Gardens!

On a recent Disney cruise, my dad and I (I was twelve years old at the time) spent a wonderful afternoon at Ardastra Gardens and Zoo in Nassau. It cost $22.50 for one adult and one child ticket, and was well worth the admission fee. It was definitely the highlight of our day on the island. The lush tropical jungle setting enchanted and intrigued us, and the whole zoo, though small, was cute, clean, and very well-done. The exotic animals were amazing (we loved the Bahama parrots, the capuchin monkeys, and the kissing cockatoos), and we could tell that the staff had worked very hard to make the animals happy.
The lory parrot feeding and the marching flamingos are definitely not to be missed. At one point, I had 4 lorikeets (lory parakeets) eating apples out of my hand! The flamingos are very entertaining. I was selected to stand in the little arena with the flamingos-be sure you volunteer for this magical part of the show.
Exotic, charming, and a lot of fun for people of all ages, this amazing Bahamian cultural experience takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to be fully enjoyed, and is definitely NOT to be missed. I would rank this as the best attraction in the city of Nassau. If you only have time for one activity in Nassau, this is it.
