Fancy a spot of tea or some Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding while watching your favorite cricket team dash around the field? The Cricket Club Pavilion adjacent to the Cricket Club of Nassau offers classic British fare such as steak and kidney pie, shepherd pie, fish and chips, roast beef sandwiches, and of course, delicious British and Bahamian beer. Bahamian specialties include conch fritters and conch chowder. Breakfasts are strictly British with toast, jam and tea. Owners Connie and Chris are there to explain the rules of Cricket to newcomers.
I stumbled upon this English oasis in the pit known as Nassau, while taking my life in my hands, and jogging on Bay St. I stopped in for a pint, and stayed along time, to get to know the locals, and to sample the fine food and drink.
Highly recommend it when visiting Nassau.
Nice to be in an atomosphere that does not reek of tourism! What a place if you want a true bahamian experience. Not fancy. Downright dingy but superb food and friendly ambiance. If you want something different, I highly recommend it
The Cricket Club has a great sports bar. You get English Breakfast, Bahamian Food, European Beers and watch Live Premiership Soccer, American Football, Tennis, Cricket on a big screen TV via satellite.
Chris & Connie own the place and are there 7 days and nights a week.
