Queen's Park Savannah
The park covers an area of 400 acres and was formerly a large sugar estate. It was later purchased by Governer Ralph Woodford in the early 1800s. He later donated the land to the city. The savannah is one of the island's foremost centres of activity. Many of the city's largest buildings have the savannah as a backdrop. The pitch walk that encircles it is a haven for fitness enthusiasts and those out for a leisurely stroll. The Queen's Park Savannah is also the location for many of the country's most exciting events, including Carnival and other cultural and international concerts.
I love the Savannah it's great for excersing relaxing taking in the sites and people. I love the events held there like the Kite Flying competetions and the grand stage for Carnival:) I must say the Savannah is always clean, the grass and surrounding area in tip top shape, the decaying trees cut down and maintained but in so saying the trees are cut down but who replants them???After all the fetivites the arounds itself are returned to pristine conditions but who takes care of replanting the tress after all they are a significant part of the Savannah.
My likes is always Positive Trini is Very Beautiful people warm Friendly oo the Food is all Good the sites and Sees the Bird Sanctuary the Beaches down town Nice we need to do some thing of cause with the Homeless and the Poverty St James never Sleeps and the Police have Nasty attitude especially the Woman i never thought that the Police Dept so rude to People i will mention but move on i do hope that the New Prime Minister will make some improvement
We loved this savannah. It's a great place to take the kids for a picnic after visiting the botanical gardens which is nearby. Fresh coconuts are sold right on the perimeter of the park as well as other street vendors. It's a great place to spend a relaxing day!
A must see for people who likes Victorian architecture

The Queen's Park Savannah is huge, and in its sides it has very beautiful and colourful old buildings, that the government try to preserve, in fact some went under restoration and some are in restoration. Is a good place to drink Cold Coconut water, is good for jogging, walking.... or just to see the beauty of the nature and enjoy the birds singing.
