White Water Walk, Niagara Falls

as a former buffalonian.. i was so surprized, thiat id never done this before, but we had out of town family with us and decded to go ... what a great time, and an awesome expeirence.. so much so im planning asurprize trip back for fathers day!!

The Niagara River is a class 6 river and is so powerful and dangerous that it's illegal to attempt to kayak/raft it. My tickets to this were free so I decided to stop and check it out. Parking was free too and that is rare in Niagara Falls.

I am orginally from Tonawnada New York with my mom still living across the street from the Niagara River. Have taken many people to the falls and never did the White water walk. This year we decided to do everything at the falls with a very dear friend. It was facinating and gorgeous! You can walk right up to the water in some areas. I would encourage everyone to take the time to see the white water rapids. It was breathtaking. Yes there is an old elevator but we went in August and we waited for the elevator for 10 minutes. Well worth the money and definately not boring!

WE WERE STUCK DOWN THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR IN A STINKY WET CAVE WITH 60 PEOPLE AND NO WATER AND NO BATHROOM BECAUSE THE ELEVATOR BROKE AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO HIRE SOMEONE TO FIX IT. AND THERE WERE NO STAIRS SO WE HAD TO TAKE A MONORAIL THAT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS ON ITS LAST LEGS TO AN EIGHTY STEP SPIRAL STAIRWAY IN THE MOUNTAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE OF CANADA EVER.

Great view of the river!! excellent experiance and a must do. It is not much but it is a must do. The walk is not so much that it will wear you out but just enough.

We went to Niagara Falls the first week of June and overall it was a great experience. The falls seen from the Canadian side was expectacular. We took a package that included the White Water Walk and found it was the most boring walk ever. Unless you are a nature freak, you would not enjoy this walk.

A GREAT CLOSE UP OF THE RAPIDS AND THE GREAT NIAGARA RIVER THIS IS A GREAT ATTRACTIONS AND THE BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY FREE PARKING AND CLOSE TO ALL.

Even with some long wait times this was quite an experience. Hard to imagine the power of the river from up above but when your close it is awesome to see and hear.I took more pictures in this area than I did anywhere else in Niagara. Would go back again.

The White Water Walk lets you get breathtakingly close to the rapids by walking along a boardwalk. However, be prepared to wait and wait some more to be brought back up to street level. You are taken down, about a dozen people at a time, by an old elevator. As soon as you get off this elevator, you can see the problem, because there are many many people waiting to ride the same elevator back up. There is no other way up except this elevator. We waited approximately twenty-five minutes in this tunnel. I personally think it was still worth it.
