Screamers Haunted House
If you're tired of the sunshine and the roar of the Falls , why not try walking in total darkness while scary monsters leap out at you? That's the gist of this haunted house, where you never know what will come at you next and what will send you screaming towards the exit. But don't worry, you simply yell out "screamers" and the ordeal is over;you'll simply join thousands of others on the Chicken List.
Another attraction (I use the word loosely) Not at all what they purport it to be. Lame actors and tired props. Wait for Halloween, much scarier than this place.Other in "scary places" even weaker than this. Spend your hard earned cash elswere.
I have now gone to every haunted house in the falls and Screamers was the biggest dissapointment. I've worked for scare houses myself and know what it takes and this left a LOT to be desired. Sounded like only 1 actor was working, and failed miserably at his job. I got a little tense when we got trapped into a room, until the lights came on and what looked like a chewbacca doll bounced above us. I didn't jump at all. I had high expectations but this was way below even the corny ones on Clifton itself. Heck, the ghost blaster ride at the midway is spookier. By far Nightmares at the far end of the street is the best house as that one did scare the crap out of me. This was a waste of $36 for the two of us.
I'm not really sure why my experience was so different then everyone else on this site. I don't think it was scary in a "haunted house" type of way, but maybe in a "this guy is going to kidnap and rape me" sort of way. From the second I got in there the guy was cornering me and my friend, had his mouth on my face saying my name (maybe he got it from the guy at the desk but have no idea) and then when I ignored that he tried pulling me away from my friend, when I resisted he grabbed my waste and tried pulling me away, and when I still resisted he decided to grab my waste and lift me off the ground pulling my shirt up past my bra. I had to kick out of it and leave through the entrance. Nice, I paid $15 to get molested.
Screamers is very scary, the actors and displays are excellent. My only complaint is about the actor in front of the store who acts like a statue only to scare unsuspecting passers-by. While it is hysterical to watch, I fear that the creature may scare some kid into the street into oncoming traffic (My 9 yr old was so frightened he almost did just that)! Not such a safe idea.
This attraction has a TON of potential. The set up and foreshadowing leaves you scared to enter. As you go enter you are in complete darkness and the surpises begin almost immediately. Creatures with hissing tongues follow you as you go through. Near the end you find yourself enclosed in a box and are only disappointed by the lack of effect for the potential these few moments have. Aside from a mock tractor trailer on tracks that careens towards you the only thing you are left with a case of claustrophobia.
Screamers is (I would say) one of the best haunted houses in North America. Just walking in there you get goosebumps. During your visited to Screamers you will really feel like your in one of the most scary, horror movies. So if your in for a good scare, definetly go to Screamers (just don't be a chicken).
My wife and I have been face to face with bears and have climbed over twenty peaks, but this place really got our attention. You can tell yourself a hundred times that it's all for fun, but it is almost impossible to keep walking in the pitch dark with some invisible nut screeching strange noises right in your face the whole time. We have never experienced anything else quite like it. It was especially creepy when we did it because it was a dark, rainy autumn night and there was nobody else around. I recommend doing it then.
