Towering 236 meters (775 feet) above the Falls , this tower is so high and close to the border, it needed special permission from both Canadian and U.S. authorities to be built. It has three glass-encased elevators that bring you to a top-floor observation deck, two restaurants; the internationally famous Revolving Dining Room and the Summit Suite Dining Room ; a shopping center and a large amusement arcade. awesome.not one complaint.ive come for elegant dinners with girlfriends and now my wife for many years.even did xmas dinner when we vacationed from family!staff was quik ,efficient and set out some very nice food at 800ft in the air...cmon!i dont know how the complainers are doin it ,but you come up top on a friday or saturday and its a
suited up and blackdress evening and the bottles flow at some gregarious tables at 200$ a pop and its a spectacle to be enjoyed for sure.we grab some steak yknow..and the pies not bad either.the reviews that say go to mc'ds ?..well thats where they usually go with the kids i suppose.for the rest of us that know too leave the kids at home when we dine at a 4 or 5 star resteraunt and dont feel out of our element.the food is fine ..the drink are poured as long as u like and the man at the piano plays it just rt like he has for yrs.go there and appreciate the architectureral rarity.no whining allowed. grandisle pat
I cannot write about the dining experience, because it was too overpriced for our group. I would however, recommend it for taking photos or videos from another vantage point. I used a coupon for a small amt off the admission price and rode up alone, while my adult kids were downstairs in the gameroom playing pool. I probably wouldn't need to do it again though, once you have seen it, it doesn't change much. It is too bad though, that the photos the professionals take of you at the tower with various backgrounds, cannot be ordered online. ( some kind of law they said.) Who has extra money to blow on these overpriced photo enlargements...? They are nice but too pricey for a simple enlargement.
i have been to the falls quite a few times and never had the experience of dining at the skylon tower restaurant. i found it to be excellent! The view is spectacular! I have pictures to prove it! the wait staff was very friendly and efficient! the tables are very close together but we had lucked out and sat next to a pleasant couple with great conversation! we were seated immediately and i am a gourmet cook and found the found to be delicious! just remember for those who complain about prices you get what you pay for. so yes pricey but well worth every cent!!
My wife and I attended the dinner buffet on our 40th anniv. and we were both pleased. I have never had a dinning experience where everything I tried on the buffet was delicious. We both were very pleased with the food, view and service. I would like to return soon!
We only went to the observation deck, not the restaurant. The experience was great for about the first 10 or 15 minutes. That was about all we needed to look out and see the falls and then see the motel we were staying at.
It got boring pretty quickly and was a lot of money for something that was interesting for so short a time.
If that wasn't bad enough, there were not that many people waiting to go up when we went, but just after we got there a lot of large tour groups arrived. When we'd had enough and wanted to go back down, we had to wait in line for 10 to 15 minutes until it was our turn to get on the elevator.
Would not have spent this much money if we knew it would be this boring.
The food and dining experience was great. Yes the restaurant is kind of pricy (@$50 for an entree) but the view of the Falls and ambience it to die for. It is great for a romantic dinner (even thoough I went with my 3 girlfriends) but really worth the trip. It was the highlight of my trip to Niagara Falls
I loved just the atmosphere of sitting in the tower and slowly spinning while we had dinner. I found the food to be expensive but was good tasting. Not much to do in the tower but the view of the falls is amazing!
We ate in the revoloving restaurant. The food and drinks are HORRIBLE!!! Way overpriced which I wouldn't mind if your getting what you are paying for, but that isn't the case. So do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money. If you want to see the view, just pay to take a ride to the observation level.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - even if you grab one of their coupons.
Yes, the idea is cool - you sit in a restaurant high above the falls and slowly spin while you eat dinner.
Only problem......the food is way over priced and really not all that good either. The service is not all that great either. Oh and by the way, there are two rows of seating - one right by the window (the good view) and another just inside of that (the one where you only get 1/2 of the view, but get a bonus of looking at other people eating their dinner).
AND - making reservations ahead of time does not mean you get the good seating.
So as I said, hit the McDonalds drive through and pay the small fee to go to the observation tower - it will cost a tenth of the price, you still get the view, and the meal will be about the same.
