Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens
Run by the Niagara Parks Commission , these stunning botanical gardens feature more than 40 hectares (100 acres) of meticulously kept gardens attracting more than one million visitors annually. Gardens include herb, vegetable, rock and arboretum for trees and shrubs. The gardens, in existence since 1936, are maintained by students at the School of Horticulture on the grounds. The gardens are also the location for the Butterfly Conservatory .
Touring along on the Canadian side, you might miss this little gem. It is certainly worth the little effort it takes to cross the road and wander through this beautiful botanical feast for the senses.
There are plants from many species and geographical locations. There are great walkways that seem to transport you lisfully around the grounds. The sounds and smells only add to the enjoyment.
There is no cost to experience this marval. The restrooms were clean, and the drinking fountain water was cold and tasty. Truly a must for plant lovers and families.
Teh botatnical gardens are well worth the short drive to see. You will want to take many many pictures. Take a trip into the butterfly conservatory. The $10 (CAN) to get in is well wortth it! I have never seen so many butterflies so eager to let you watch them flutter about. Great for families, the kids will love being close the butterflies. Teh gardens are a nice quiet place to get away from the hussle and bussle around the falls.
This place is wonderful on all aspect. You will never forget your walk in the garden. So many beautiful trees and flowers that you just want to lay down on the grass to stay there forever. But the greatest attraction in that place is the butterfly house. All the butterfly are free and fly around you. If you are lucky, you will even have some that will come to play with you. It cost only ten dollars to go there. One of the most wonderful place of the world.
