Flying Saucer Restaurant
Located in downtown Niagara Falls near the Casino Niagara, this restaurant offers an all-day 99-cent breakfast and full bar service. There's an early bird special from 6am to noon featuring eggs, hash browns and toast—and you can go straight from that to the lunch soup and super sandwich combo. For dinner, you can feast on steak, seafood or Italian main dishes. All of the dinner meals can be accompanied by wine, ale, or hard stuff from the bar. To top it all off, they even have a kids' menu.
It was terrible, and the response was as if they couldn't care if you died or not from it.
Never again! They can stay run down, it is totally using the public.
GARBAGE THAT WILL MAKE YOU SICK AS A DOG.
Owner laughed that I got sick.
NOT FRENCH FRIENDLY PLACE EITHER. BLEU!
This is what we call this place in N.F.
The food is horrible, the owners are brutal, the staff hates their jobs, and the kitchen (from a 14 year vet in the industry) is the absolute worst you could ever see.
If you want a quick sub at 3 am, you'll be able to justify the Saucer, simply because you've just left the bar, and it's the only place open.
But dear God, don't bring your children here. It's still questionable how the owners haven't been shut down after all this time (but most of us have a few ideas)
The food was good and staf were pleasant but something must not be right because our party of four all came down with food poisoning or contamination of some kind. Diahrea, vomiting, fever, sweating stomach pain etc... it was less than 24 hrs for 3 of us and the 4th person came down within 48 hrs. 3 of us had chicken and the other one had a hamburger. I am alerting the public health people so that this can be avoided for other.
Four of us went in for dinner...chicken faitias, chicken parm, hamburger and french fries! This was Wednesday about 5 pm by the next evening three off us that had chicken were violently ill, vomiting, the runs, chills, fever....the 4th person in our party has just now come down with the same thing, he had the burger!!! my guess would be Samonella poisoning.....so stay away from the flying saucer!!!!! We will definitely spread the word we live in the Niagara Region!!!!
the owners don't treat their workers nice. I over heard them yelled at one of the waitress. The preparation was filthy, not sure if the staff or the people cooked the food kept the area clean or even washed their hands as the owners don't look clean or professional for that matter. So i don't think i will go back there again. The washroom was so filthy i had to go to Mc donalds' to use the washroom. It was late at night so we had no choice but to eat and try this restaurant out.
It was certainly a modern facility in its day, but is past its prime now. Could have been a bit cleaner too. Our waiter was nice and smiled a lot! The food was OK but nothing to write home about. I thought it could have been alittle more reasonably priced, but there are many other choices on that stretch of road to not have to go back there again.
I ate there over the memorial weekend, the waitress was rude, the food was hardly ok, and we went there because theres comments all over the web that the place is cheap, well I can tell you the prices are way to much for the food quality.
A group of 10 of us went in for dinner, and it was slow in there. We ordered, and about 45 minutes later the food came out. We did not order anything special or complicated. One of us ordered a 3 piece "all white" chicken dinner. We recieved a breast, a leg, and a thigh. I asked the waitress, and she said that this is white meat, and they could not make anymore because they had already shut off the fryer. We wanted the extra 6 bucks taken off for not getting all white meat, and the owner was the fattest, rudest, slob of a person I had ever seen. He does not know white from dark, and he also refused to take the extra cost off. He argued with us for 15 minutes. Frustrated we left...and vowed never to return or even make any recomendations for this trap.
As soon as we walked in for dinner, I noticed that there are a bunch of flies roaming around the place!! Right there and then we should have walked out but the kids were hungry and it was a bit late.
We ordered burgers for the kids, the seafood platter and the shrimp'n'steak for me and my spouse. Thank god I inspected every plate carefully as they're being placed on our table. Here it is, a fly dead on top of the gravy!! Before the plate is even placed on the table, I told the gal about it and she was flustered and started to explain to me how the fly could've gotten into my food. She asked me if I want the plate replaced and I confirmed. They replaced the mashed potatoes and gravy only and returned the plate!! No apologies whatsoever!!
The waitress disappeared after the incident. No refills, no attention or any type of service. no one seemed to care. The food was cold and they didn't even care to heat it up. That food tasted like it was cooked long time before our arrival. I had to ask for the bill and they were very annoyed with us and just wanted us out.
I don't know how this restaurant is keeping its license with all those flies all over the food and tables like that!!
By the way, the total bill was around $75 and not one cent of compensation for the insects and filth!!
Like I said....never again!!
I'm stunned by the other reviews, as this is an incredible place. I've been going here for over 20 years and it's consistently great.
The whole flying saucer theme is cool, the service is always friendly, and the food is so good I wish I had a second stomach so I could eat more.
My usual order is the Saucer Burger with meat sauce on the fries and the side of coleslaw - it's a very filling meal and always done perfect. The Poutine fries are a good substitute for the regular fries if you want the meal to be more "Canadian".
Add an appetizer and the meal usually comes to $12 or so.
You will wait a bit for the food as they don't make it until you order it, but I'm fine with that. And there's a lot more than just hamburgers on the huge menu, but that's just my favorite thing to order.
Give this place a try. Even with the cool saucer atmosphere, the food is still the star here.
