The food was tasteless, the service was incredibly slow and my fiance didn't even get her food and they weren't able to bring it out for an hour after I reminded them that they forgot her order. You would expect a authentically run restaurant to be run alot smoother with quite a bit better service, even if the cost of the meal is high but this restaurant failed on all accounts. I felt really bad for bringing my fiance's parents here and told them it should be good because it seemed to be authentic. Definitely over priced and I would not recommend anyone to go there for any meal. Just to top it off, they dropped broccoli in my tea ;)

i went to the restaurant for my birthday and i was very happy with my choice. i was there 6 years ago and finally i got the chance to go back there again (as i live far from the area where it's located), and i was glad they haven't changed a bit in their quality of service and food over the years. it's a very cozy place, with great friendly people and btw it's a japanese family run restaurant, they are so sweet and very welcoming. food is amazing, very original japanese, their tempura barely has any oil, light batter and very light oil, and that's how they really make it in japan, the less oil from the tempura means better quality of the food. my fav. sushi is fresh and tasty, i love how the chirashi comes in a very traditional box with a lid...the overall presentation is great. tamago (egg sushi/sashimi) is amazing too, must try!! they are the only restaurant in ontario i've tried so far in the past 10 years that make the most traditional layered tamago, and every japanese food expert will tell you how restaurants make their tamago show how much effort they put in their food. just try it and you will know. the katsu is very very crunchy and doesn't have a lot of oil either, green tea is is fabulous, very real and nothing like the ones u would drink at any other regular japanese restaurant. don't expect fancy items because they have the very basic menu but everything is classic and tasty. they are traditional and it's not like u will find some fusion american style japanese food, just simple and classic. the counts are not a lot though, again, all japanese food aren't suppose to come in large portions. however the price is a bit expensive (2-3 dollars more) compare to regular japanese restaurant, but that's only because the quality is superb and i don't mind paying more for what i get too, they are so nice to their customers and it's a cute little family run restaurant, if paying the price is to keep them running the business, i am willing to because i will be going back every chance i have down the years!

My girlfriend and I went on Saturday December 1st around 2 pm for a late lunch. (A good time to go if you want to ask extra question, like myself, since the waitress was not busy looking after many guests.) I had never been to a Japanese restuarant before. This is the right place to go for a newbie. The young lady (so sweet and cute!) was a delightful server. She was eager to explain what was in the Futomaki sushi I had ordered. As an unexpected bonus, she explained the custom of having your guest pour your saki (rice wine) from the carafe into your small cup in a respectful gesture to the host. My girlfriend happily obliged. ANd when we ate our miso soup, she told us 'slurping was allowed!' And she also explained that the pickled ginger is to 'cleanse your palate.' Wabi Sabi philosophy rules at this restaurant. The dishes were all different, all unique and beautiful. The decor was simple. I would have liked to see a bit more japanese richness in the decor. The cost was acceptable. Not cheap but not a rip off either. Everyone has to make a living decently. :) The atmosphere was very local. The only other people in the restaurant seemed to be friends of the owners. We were treated as welcome at all times.

Just off Lundy's Lane (Ferry) - great sushi and friendly service make this restaurant one of my favourites in Niagara. The sushi is fresh - flavourful - and well presented. More than just sushi, the menu offers a wide selection, plenty of choice. Well done Yukiguini - We'll be back real soon.
