Not impressed. Pasta seemed homemade but red sauce tasted like it was from a jar. Chicken parmesan just ok. Prices WAY too high for the food presented. $22.95 for a flattened chichen breast, fried, with cheese and sauce on top, a side of angel hair with not so great sauce, and a salad that was average but was also the highlight of the meal.
First time visit this evening. Was busy so I opted to sit at bar for my dinner. Great service and attention. Waiter suggested a pasta dish of lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari over fresh made pasta and marinara. Possibly the best I have ever eaten. The bread was also made in-house, same as pasta. It was amazing bread also. I cannot say enough about Sophias and how great the food is. Thanks folks. Very well done.
After living in Chicago for 25 years, I've come to realize that there are more bad restaurants in Naples, Florida, than in any other community in Florida. Most of these are Italian. I will not go to a chain so if you're a fan of Carraba's or, especially, Olive Garden, just quit reading and break out that can of Spagetti-o's in your pantry. Finally, I'm not impressed with the 5 star, uber rich joints Emeril, et al, open. I like the little guy, again, if you are aquainted with Chicago, remember Lino's on Onterio next door to Ed Debevic's? Anyway, we went to Sophia's a couple weeks ago. It was like walking into the city again. The owner was there with his baby, his wife was walking around like she owned the place. The waiter was an older guy who knew his menu. Imagine that, a male waiter and one that was sober, friendly and knowledgable! The food was excellent, just what the waiter described as was the wine. The place is CLEAN. Imagine that, in Florida! The place is reasonably priced, not cheap and no early birds and the ignorant spongers that look for them. We fully intend to go back soon.
The service was great. the food IMO is not worth what i paid for. I have eaten at cheaper Italian owned and ran restaurants and I would pay what I paid at sophia's without second guessing it. but at sophia's i just dont think the flavor is worth what i paid for. but other than that very nice classy environment and great waiting staff.
What a wonderful Mother's Day dinner!!
The waiter was perfect. He let us take our time. He waited until we were all done to pick up plates (which I appreciate!) and he was there when we needed him.
The food was great.
The music was fun and entertaining.
Thank you so much! We WILL be back!!
