End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Oregon City

Lots of changes at the end of the Trail this summer. Now you get a ticket to Historic Oregon City- so there's lots to see and do. Kids like riding the old Trolley around town-free! And making cedar shakes or packing up their own wagon....or locking Johnny in the old jail. The audiovisual show has a spooky Dr. McLoughlin introducing people who came on the Oregon Trail....like Lucy who was only eleven! little kids might not get as much out of it, but for gradeschoolers on up and their families....it was fun.

There is a half hearted shop and a few information boards but otherwise this is a really depressing place. We have travelled most of the trail by car and all the interpretation centres we have stopped at have been excellent. This is a sorry place.

End of the Trail Museum is partially reopened. They no longer have some of the live actors they once had but they do still have a lot of cool information and displays.

Please note that they hours listed are incorrect. Our regular hours are: Tues-Sat, 11am - 4pm Summer: Mon-Sat, 9:30am-5pm, Sun, 10:30am-5pm Hours change seasonally so please call ahead prior to your visit.

The inside museum is standard for a Interpretive Center with stuff for kids to see and do; lots of videos. The outside paved trails are a lot of fun and take in the beautiful sites of this part of Oregon.
