Mallalieu Motor Collection, Hastings

For automotive enthusiasts or just generally car-crazy people, the Mallalieu Motor Collection is a necessary stop when visiting Barbados. The collection features mostly British cars, as one would expect of a collection in a former British colony. However, there are non-British cars in the collection, including a pre-WWII Chevrolet Master sedan, a Citroen Traction Avant 15CV, and a military Jeep. The old British cars, however, range from regular cars like the Morris Oxford, Hillman Imp and Ford Escort (the examples of the last two being ex-rally cars) to a very rare Lanchester and the only surviving Caribbean version of the Daimler State Limousine. The cars range in size from the Mini-based Wolseley Hornet to the huge Bentley Mk VI and the aforementioned Daimler Limousine. They don't have a Cobra there, but they do have an Allard P1, a British saloon car with a Ford flathead V-8, and a Rover P6 3500, with a Buick-designed, Rover-built aluminium V-8. The only compliant I have is one shared with Mr. Mallalieu: the building is too small and it is hard to get good all-encompassing views of the cars. However, I was grateful to see these cars at all, and it is a bargain to do so at a price of B$10 (just over US$5).
