When you see this 25-foot column with a sphere at the top, you might think this is straight out of the Wizard of Oz. But behold, this thing really works. At high noon, the tower sings a song and then heralds the weather of the day and a yellow-orange sun for those rare occasions, a dragon for the stormy stuff or a blue heron for drizzle, the most popular player. This little-known landmark has brought smiles to all kinds of faces.
