STAY AWAY!
I was double-charged and then BANNED for trying to resolve the problem!!
Leah Douvris, the General Manager at the Virginia Cafe, double-charged my credit card last week. I had a burger and an iced tea, the total was $7.75. She was the waitress at my table of four and we each split the bill for what we ordered. When I noticed another charge on my account for $15.50 the following Tuesday, I went by the cafe with a print-out of my online bank-statement. I pointed out the correct charge, and the erroneous charge. I expected that the manager on duty (which happened to be Leah) would simply refund the amount to my card, especially when the customer came back nearly a week later with evidence of a double-charge in hand.
Leah told me to give her time to figure it out. Not what I had expected, but fair enough I guess. She called me back two days later with the information that she (yes, SHE did it) had double charged my card instead of running my friend's card for his $15.50 meal. She asked that I collect the $15.50 from my friend. I told her that I would rather she refund my card. To which she replied that she could not do that until they had secured my friend's credit card info. So she asked for his phone number, said she would call him. I asked her to please give me a call back when it was resolved, to which she got really snippy, rattled off a long list of how she was breaking her back trying to take care of this for me today (she said it as if she were doing me a favor, like she was doing my work for me), then hung up the phone on me.
Upon talking to her again, when inquiring if she had intention to refund my card, she was terribly unpleasant to deal with. She talked to the point that a word could not have gotten in edgewise. She said that the phonecall was inappropriate, and then she suggested that it would be best if I never came back to the Virginia Cafe again!
So, to sum up, Leah (the GENERAL MANAGER) will double-charge your card (perhaps out of carelessness or perhaps on purpose), and then tell you to do her work for her, act like it's a terrible inconvenience for her to run around trying to fix her error, then tell you that you are inappropriate for checking in on the progress of getting your money back, then BAN you from the restaurant. I do not recommend the VIrginia Cafe.
