BAUME restaurant was created with the premise of combining the modern with the ancient. The name Baume was chosen because it represents something which is scientifically classic but gastronomically modern. It fits Chef Bruno Chemel's concept by being something originally French but which is now used universally. The dining room was designed with an emphasis on clarity and tranquility. Baume restaurant was built with a focus on Quality, Honesty, and a Respect for Nature. These philosophies carry from the attitude of the staff to the food itself. Our menu is built with a consideration for digestion and moderation influenced by macrobiotic cooking. With this in mind, we've prepared a small focused wine list to accent the food without overwhelming it. It is French Cuisine Moderne with a Zen Touch.
If you like the French Laundry you will like Baume's. Everything is done right. The food and wine pairings were well thought out. The food is unique and tasteful , some will not appeal to every taste however.
I went for my girlfriend Birthday. We got the 12 course with wine pairing.the experience was one the best we ever got.
start with the olive boquerones and nitro olive oil...also the prawn with curry and the caramelized Duck was out of this world.everything was perfect.
The food was at the caliber of the the Fat Duck in UK. Been there 3 time. Definitly will be back at Baume when i visit the bay area and tell all my friends. job very well done at Baume
What a fantastic journey it has been. To me Baume is the best restaurant in Palo Alto. We have ordered the 5 courses menu with the wine pairing and every single dish was a true experience. The day before we went to Evvia where we had a great service and the products were really fresh and good, but Baume is a very different type of restaurant. It is the kind of place where you appreciate every single second as it is so different from what you could have experienced in the past. To me it is worth a 2 stars @ Michelin
