Had a birthday coupon that was mailed out to my other half for their birthday. So worth it!! Food was so good, piping hot, fresh mahi, salmon was sooo good. Drinks were made top notch, the service was pleasent and the decor was elegant. Little loud but next time ( I asked where it was quieter) we will sit in the wave room. It was busy but Will return and can't wait. If you haven't been here I advise you to try it out!
Let me just say that Torch Bistro in Punta Gorda is the place to go if you want all around awesome food, atmosphere, and service!! I have eaten at this restaurant well over a dozen times since they have been open and have NEVER been disappointed. Anyone who says otherwise is the type of person that can't be pleased no matter what you do! For the quality of the food you get, I'd say you are getting a steal for the price you pay. If you're looking for a new restaurant to try that isn't BORING like most of the restaurants in this area, this is the restaurant for you. Now GO TO TORCH BISTRO!
We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food at the Torch Bistro. I wasn't sure what to expect, but we decided to give it a try based on previous reviews. The service was very good and the prices very reasonable. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant has a modern look with glass panels showing off the kitchen area. It actually has the look of a Manhattan bistro. The menu offered items like duck, an assortment of seafood items, several steaks along with meatloaf and chicken pot pie! There are a lot of sushi items, but apparently they are only available on certain nights. I had a steak which was served medium as ordered. My wife absolutely loved the pork osso bucco. The other couple had the duck and another steak. Everything was pretty close to perfect. The only potential negative was the 3 thin asparagus spears and the table spoon of mashed potatoes. Although excellent, I would have preferred a little more. Overall, it was an unexpected and excellent dining experience.
Own my own place so I love to see what the compitition has to offer. Stopped by Torch Bistro last night. Place was busy, bar was full, people were happy. Sushi was very very good as was the Osso Bucco.
I was impressed that such a new place could impact Punta Gorda the way it did. I'll have to keep an eye on them.
Dining at Torch Bistro was a wonderful experience. The decor was modern yet very cosy and warm due to the beautiful lighting throughout. The food was outstanding. It was very surprising to find comfort food prepared in such a high-end manner. The prices were more than reasonable. We look forward to eating there often.
Went to dinner... Had the calamri and OMG!!! Had the osso bucco and OMG out of thus world! Food has love and the service isn't all that bad, we just got in the middle of busy!! prices are affordable and will be returning as always!! Highly recommend
I Found a hair in my food! I used to be a regular at Torch they do have amazing food. When you go there you will see the chefs cooking your food also you can see that none of them wear hair nets. I know were all human so most of us have hair. I found a hair in my calamari and let the server aware of it. When I received the bill I was wondering why they didn't comp the $7 appetizer. I asked to speek to the manager he came out telling me he has no idea why or how they could have got the hair in my food so they could not comp the food. So that was the last time I ever go there. They obvioulsy care about the money and not about the customer.
Just had lunch Today with another co worker and I must say that I have neve seen a place like this in Punta Gorda. The meatloaf sandwich wash out of this world and the friend had the hawian BLT. They have this 9 grain bread that made the sandwich perfect. I was a little worried at first because when you walk in you are expecting to spend $$ because of the look and decor but boy were we wrong. The serve was very smart with the menu items and with us being a little picky he did not write down the order and everything was correct when we received lunch. My co-workers and I eat out at least three to four times a week and we dine in downtown Punta Gorda a lot for lunch but for the quality and price we look forward to our new lunch spot. I have read some of the reviews on Torch and the only person you can trust is yourself so try them out and hope you enjoy as much as we did.
My wife and I dine very often in Punta Gorda with other couples and hearing about this restaurant Torch for a while, so we gave it a shot. Right as we were walking up we expected to pay big $$$. Were we wrong. The menu has a wide array of food to pick from (bison, to curry chicken, to one of a kind sushi) We can start on the Sushi . We asked the waiter to decide on the sushi for us and we were shocked on the presentation, and quality was just like BLU in Fort Myers. While waiting for our dinner we just were so distracted by the unique lighting and decor that conversation was easy to keep. I had the bison and my wife had the duck yes Bison and duck. Where in Punta Gorda can you get bison and duck?). The couple with us had the Osso Bucco and double order of calamari(yes double) . Everything came out at the SAME time and hot. we had a side order of something called YUKA fries. I have never seen something like this and it is hard to describe but wonderful. Food and liquor prices seem to be the lowest in the area.
The owners seem to very young and have a good thing going. They stopped and asked how everything was.Great service and attentions to detail. We wish Torch the best of luck and we look forward to being back. We dine at The Caper and Lulu but for the price and same if not better quality Torch is our New Dining spot.
