McKenna's Place, Greenacres

I went back to this place after being gone for a while last week. Everything has changed...For the worst! All of the great servers are gone, All of the great bartenders are gone, The best shucker they ever had is gone! The food is poor...at best! And their raw bar isn't what it used to be. They used to have the best clams... now they taste like rubber!!! I would not bring my family in ever again. Not to mention the place is so dirty! I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like, and I don't want to. I could actually smell the filthy bathrooms from the dinning area. It's too bad. I used to like this place. It was never really clean but everything else made up for it!

We are surprised by the negative review. We go to this place every week. The food is great and the service is the best. We recommend it highly. The original owner sold it last year, but he was not around much and it was going downhill. The food is much better now, and it seems like the new owner is always there. The restaurant is a little older and may need a little updating, but if you are looking for a friendly neighborbood restaurant with good food, great service and low prices, we recommend McKenna's

The quality of this restaurant went downhill quick after Chris McKenna sold it. I went on a Friday afternoon and was greeted by a chain-smoking hostess (who I later found out was the owner's wife) that took sips of wine between seating customers. The table I sat at was covered in filth and the seats were covered in a sticky substance. The bathrooms were so groce that my wife had to use the facility at the Carribean restaurant next door. The wings we ordered as an appetizer were raw and the chipped beer mug almost cut my lip. The service seemed decent, but many of the female employees dressed rather inapropriatly around younger children. My server smelled like ciggeratte smoked each time he served us new drinks. To make matters worse, they ran out of marinara sauce AFTER we ordered our meal. I do not recommend this sports bar to anyone looking for a decent meal with the family. Just go to Chilli's right down the street it's worth the extra five bucks. What a shame, this used to be a great family friendly sports bar.
