We love Fronteras in Olathe. It is our go to restaurant. Most dinners are around $10.00 and you will likely have left overs. Last night I had the Chile Verde Pork Carnitas and brought home leftovers that were so good I ate them cold for lunch today. My husband had the Pork Tamales and said they were full of pork and sauce and very filling. I usually have the Spinach Enchiladas. They are rich but if you eat them with salsa it cuts the richness and they are perfect. My husband usually has the Crispy Beef Tacos. We eat at the restaurant a couple of times a month and have dinner to go a couple of more times a month. To go orders are delicious, filling, and always correct. They send home plastic utensils, bags of chips, and containers of salsa. The beer mugs are always icy. The house margaritas on the rocks with salt are tasty and the special margaritas are delicious (a little expensive for me to enjoy routinely but okay for a special dinner). If you don't want to have a full portion they let you order the lunch size which I appreciate. The wait staff is friendly and quick. Last night our waiter came running after us in the parking lot because my husband forgot his hat. My son only eats the grilled cheese and french fries and loves the fried ice cream that comes with all children's meals. We have taken friends out to dinner at Fronteras and will continue to do so. I like that business is good but we have never had to wait longer then 10 minutes for a table/booth. My water glass if refilled as well as chips and salsa (they have hot salsa on request) without me having to ask the staff. I appreciate great customer service and delicious food and have never been let down by Fronteras. Be sure to vist this restaurant.
I have gone here now three times. The first time, the waitress was American and good, the food was pretty good. The second time, service not as good, Mexican national, food overpriced a la carte, food not as good as I expected but ok.
Third time, pop too sweet, salsa tasted completely canned, waiter who spoke no English, really no one did there that day, sent first pop back, got different and too sweet pop with milk stain on glass.
Waiter had seemed to understand the pop did not taste right, the carbonation was off. At this I left. Something changed here and I personally wish these Mexican restaurants would hire American people as many folks are out of work and to have people working at this restaurant who speak no English and therefore are not probably here legally is really illegal. All Americans are paying for unemployment benefits. Maybe this restaurant owner would like to specify that his employees are or are not legal. Another customer, as I left, was also speaking in an unhappy fashion to the apparent manager and stating that they had gone through alot of managers. So I don't know but I am not going back.
There are a few good Mexican restaurants in Olathe, but Fronteras has become our favorite in the entire KC area. Their menu is far superior to anyone else. They have standard enchiladas, burritos and tacos like all the others. But they also have several unique items like the Veracruz Enchiladas--which are awesome! I've enjoyed every dish I've tried, but I particularly recommend the chile verde carnitas, barbacoa tacos and barbacoa burrito.
Their margaritas are not out-of-this-world, but they're as good as any other restaurant in the area--and better than some. They do offer a good selection of upgrade options..
The food is always very good. The staff is consistently friendly, and the service is fast. I'd give them more than five stars if I could.
we have another winner in olathe for great mexican. first time visit tonight at the urging of our daughter sara. we think mia ranchito was the best mexican food in town. but i almost hate to tell everyone, but this place is as good or better than ranchito.try the chicken enchillada dinner with the champagne sauce..........AWSOME.
