They offer $20 for all you can eat sushi for selected rolls. The rolls were okay but there are better places to get good quality sushi rolls. For example, Kawa sushi in Grayslake offers all you can eat sushi rolls, sushi, sashimis, and appetizers (not just miso soup, but other appetizers) for $24. Kawa offers this everyday. Unlike Aha, they only offer this Monday and Tuesday.
I've been to most of the local sushi restaurants in the NW suburbs and Aha Sushi is one of my favorites. Extremely fresh sushi and sashimi and they use the best cuts of the fish. Only problem is it does take a while. The service from the wait staff has always been great, but the chefs take a while in food preparation, even when you're the only table. Either call your order ahead, or plan to spend an hour here for lunch.
A wonderful place to dine. My wife and I will go back time and time again. The service was great the food was excellent and the Saki was HOT! What else could you want?
Try it you will not be disappointed.
The sushi is good, but I wouldn't say it is great. The rolls were much better than the sushi and sashimi. For a similar price, Sushi Thai and Sushi Kushi (Lake Forrest) are superior. However, if you do not want to travel to Lake Forrest or Libertyville, Aha Sushi will work. I just feel that the flavor is more robust with the sashimi and sushi from Sushi Kushi (Libertyville) or Wildfish Sushi (Deerfield). The Dragon Roll and the Gurnee Roll were favorites.
I agree on that their menu has evolved since they opened. This place is AMAZING! I am a big sushi fan and have tried many many places around the area and elsewhere. I must say Aha tops my list at #1, and must also say I love the layout of the restaurant it is updated and very welcoming.
We are huge sushi fans, and we love this place. The menu has evolved very quickly since Aha opened, and I imagine it's because they pay attention to what their customers want! And if your favorite roll isn't on the menu, just ask. Chef has mastered my favorite spicy tuna, no mayo, add cilantro. I crave it now! Also, it's nice to be able to have a nice glass of wine or a cocktail. Hard to find at the smaller sushi places. Oh, and I can't sign off before mentioning the extremely friendly service! Can't wait to go back.
